Introduction

The first witches were solo practitioners and the need to have magic in our lives is as old as time. With the passage of time, it has become even more imperative that we keep these magical traditions alive. We live in a time where we have never needed more magic, more inspiration, more attention to the sacred in our daily lives. In the past two years there have been global events where most of us have had to spend inordinate amounts of time on our own. With that being said, I am devoting this book to solo practitioners.

Being a practicing witch on your own can be some of the most beneficial of your life, all of us can achieve a more contemplative state of mind when we are by ourselves, we can do some of our deepest thinking when we are on our own, we can have some of our greatest spiritual insights and experiences when we are alone. These reasons and more can show you that a coven of one can be one of the optimal ways to practice the craft. You will become more intune with the voice within and find more intimate ties to the world around you.

My early forays into wicca were all on my own. I lived in a rural state in the south where evangelical christianity was the norm. Wicca was actually scary to people. I knew my burning candles, speaking sacred words, and other aspects of the craft are not at all scary or negative but actually positive. Witchcraft is for the good of all, certainly there are things you want for yourself like love, prosperity, and greater health but there always has to be something that makes for a better world. Long distance spells to aid loved ones. It is enormously gratifying to see witchcraft reclaimed for a general audience with love and acceptance of the practice which is ultimately for the betterment of our lives.

Nevertheless, as my practice began as a coven of one I am thrilled to share some of my secrets in this book.

Audience

For the witch just beginning their journey in the craft to the seasoned practitioner, this book is for deepening the connection between the self and the sacred. It is to find the magic in the world once again and reconnect after the global events around the world. This book is for those who wish to recenter and redefine the craft.
